Yep - photoshop is a great program for vexelling. :D WHat version do you have?
Uhhhmmm... well vexelling can be really tough if you don't like it, so make sure to pick a picture that you think you can handle. For the first one, you don't have to challenge yourself too much. You should pick a fruit or shoe or something - not people. People are really tough and starting out with one can be discouraging if it doesn't look as good as other vexels here. Also, they take a friggin' long time so you also could be bored or discouraged.
