So how you get your music and why?
I download my music for free, which is legal for personal use here in Holland. =D
Sometimes I buy a CD but the last time not anymore. Maybe sometimes cheap samplers and DVD's.
I heard you can get in jail in America for downloading music (if you download a whole bunch).. :|
At least I have one reason now to stay in Holland =P |

Really?! So you can listen to it, but you can'tput it on a website for example.. why of course they can't prove you downloaded it but then it's illegal right? And if you actually bought the music can you then put it on a website, if you give credits and all that? :P
For some artists I really admire I buy the CD, cause I want to support them. Then still, I download the songs cause I don't feel like going through the whole process of ripping them. :P

I picked the first one, even though it's not exactly true. I buy cd's and I download music, but I download music that I've already bought half the time. I hate cd's : / They're so inconvenient but I don't have and don't plan on getting an MP3 player so I don't just pay to download because sometimes I need my cd's!
/edit/ Also... I love the cd inserts with the lyrics and the credits and the art ; ) |

Same.. I download most of my music though =| If I had a job or better "allowance" (heh) I'd buy more CDs.. but unfortunately, I don't.
In most cases though, I'll download the album until I have the money to buy it =P

Damn, I wanna go to Holland now. :/
I do download songs off Limewire, but only b-sides, remixes, and stuff like that. I'm too scared to download full CDs. I also am not allowed to pay for stuff on iTunes, so I just download the free singles and stuff each week.
Also, I love just having that physical CD to look at and to have all that pretty artwork. That's something I really miss from some of the CDs I burned in my reckless downloading days.
I also get stuff from friends, but only stuff that I'd prolly never get anyways.
It's a bit annoying to get CDs because I tend to be a bit of a miser... I wait until I see it on sale for $10, get a used copy at FYE for about $7, buy it on Amazon for $5, or go to Wal-Mart where they're usually $10. FYE is terrible 'cause their CDs usually cost $18, but if you find a used CD, there's some really good prices out there. |

Yep Andrea, you know the magazine 'Computer Idee'? In it's last issue it said 'Downloading music for personal use is allowed by law in Holland'.
I do love the artwork too but yeah :P Im not gonna pay for that xD
Hehe downloading and paying, I wouldnt like that :P If I buy something I wanna be able to touch it and not wait until my pc crashes and lose it :P |

Limewire, google, myspace..If there's no download link, ripping just takes just one more extra step. xD
If I LOVE the band, then I'll buy their album. Mostly downloading/ripping for free. |

Technically, it's legal to download anything for 24 hours. (or in my eyes, if the band has downloadables up, lol) If you OWN the album, then you can obviously keep the songs you've downloaded on the computer forever. |

I prefer buying cd's but they're just so damn expensive, that I usually download them for free.
And Matt, I think it's only legal if you also have the orignal cd and if it's for personal use only, or something.. |

I download it *cough*for free*cough*. I want to support artists by buying their cds (and I do when I have the money), but they're just oo damn expensive. I don't pay and download because I don't have a credit card.
Downloading is more convenient since I listen to music on the computer, and i listen to Bob, my mp3 player. |

I usually download a few songs and then buy the cd (if I like it) because I can't be bothered downloading all the songs on an album.. it takes too long and I've got adsl O_o
I hate having CD's though. We have a whole room for CDs :| None of them are in the right cases and you have to spend hours looking for one in particular. |

I buy a lot of CDs. I like the quality better and the art that comes with the CD. I like to support the bands that I like. I do download a lot of music for free also, to make mix CDs with, or if I only like a few songs of that person, or if I know that the CD is a ripoff. |

I buy CDs... I'm scared of illegally downloading songs lol. There have been so many stories of people having to go to court over this kind of thing. Besides, my computer hates p2p and always restarts when I try to download. And I usually get HMV coupons at Christmas or for my birthday, so I use those to buy CDs. |
