A movie made with vexels (or at least digital drawings that look like vexels/vectors). I took some screenshot for you:

My daddy read the book. Apparently it's about a weird futuristic society where all the population is being spied, in order to keep the law or something. At least that's what he told me.
I'm so goin to go watch it :D
And yeah, well said Matt !!

I reckon this movie looks pretty good. A pretty unique way to present animation xD Even though I think Keanu Reeves is getting a bit lame...=P |

It's actually called rotoscoping. We were talking about it in my interactive design class:

i think this movie might get alot of attention, both positive and negative because i kmnow alot of animators think rotoscoping is cheating, I think if you use it for referencing something its okay, but the way that these guys did it is cheating... its a lazy form of animation... I think in small doses like the td waterhouse commercials its cool, but in a long film it might get annoying.... il probably go see it though, out of sheer curiosity. |

So basically, they vectored every single frame of the movie? Gosh, that must take some time x_X
Looks really cool though, I wonder if we'll get it here... |

Artisticdork - how do they view it as cheating? I don't know, I always thought it was highly respected because to do a special effect frame by frame, 24 frames per second, that is really incredible and a lot more tedious than a lot of other techniques. Because I doubt that they did EACH and EVERY frame of that movie. I could be 100% wrong though.
Andrea - think of a flipbook. Where you would draw a picture in a different pose on every page, and then when you flipped it quickly, it would appear as if the character was moving. |

Thenk you Drew. :) I don't get how it's cheating either.. it's kinda like the old-fashioned way of making animations isn't it? |

Some think it's cheating because they draw over moving image. So the actors did their thing THEN they animated over it. I guess they consider it cheating like some people consider vexeling cheating. I don't know, I think it's cool. :) |

Ah yes, they don't have to go through the trouble of digitally developing bodies and faces and all that. :P I don't think it's cheating actually. :) |

its cheating in the sence of full animation like that because as you can see in the trailer... there isnt much actual emphasis on makijng it look solid, the different color layers floating around, the jaggedness, all that. When rotoscoping is used the way it was intewnded, to use as a base... its not cheating. I think I should have made myself a lil more clearer :/ |
