MOST RECENT UPDATE (newer edits will be on top from now on)
'TIS FINISHED! WHIPEEEE! Please comment!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
OLD EDITS, IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER
okay. i lied. not quite really my first vector. but if i complete it, it will be my first COMPLETED vector, and my first vector on my own. (i used to just basically copy the tutorial vector, LOL) I'm using the black/white layer method from YSnu which i think is just GENIUS. i love it.

so. all i have done is the ARM! I know, I'm amazing. haha. but i'm already getting discouraged because of the rest of the chest and the other arm.

so. do tell what you think.

i lost this image, sorry guys! >_<

---------------------------------------------

EDIT: FINALLY, AN UPDATE!
I left this vexel alone for a long while, and only opened it up again yesterday. and I did all of that! :O I pretty much finished the skin, and I'm darn proud of the way it came out. I love the ear and the nose. :D Legs were the easiest thing to do, but they're the hardest to get to look good. =/

so now.. dun dun dun. here it is!

So now I'm starting the clothes. x______x it's my first time! HELP MEEE!

----------------------------
EDIT
The clothes suck, the bag sucks, but the skin rocks! (or so I think)
I'm temporariliy giving up on the clothes/bag and I'm gonna attempt the hair.
So this is how it looks now. Absolute none of the original image is there in the image below. I also drew a signature with the pentool! :D

Anyone have tips on doing hair???

--------------

so.. i've finished the dress and the bag. (given up, more like, but oh well) before i submit this i'll probably fiddle around with the colors and make it different from the original picture.

but now the hair is killing me T_T
somebody help me PLEASE.

the only thing is that, the legs are different colored than the arms.

thanks guys! :D

toxicjellybean: yeah.. what should i do about that? i could easily make the tone of the legs match the face and chest beacuse i'm using the base layer + white/black layers technique. but i think that usually looks a little weird when it's exactly the same. meh.

toxicjellybean   25th March 2006 - 02:21 am

make it just a little bit darker than the arms on the legs

passionaffair   25th March 2006 - 03:20 am

that looks very good for your first vector, now to improve i would say to make it more smooth, otherwise great job!

^ ah, yes, but i'm wondering how i can make the curves any smoother? i'm using the pen tool in photoshop, and i'm not a novice at it either.

i'm not trying to be so defensive, but i guess i am. sry xD

Great for a first... I love the colors of this XD The hair looks fine too.. just make sure you blend a hairline in with the skin so it doesn't look like she's wearing a wig =)
