If you want to give it that tweed texture like on mine for the jacket, I would first recommend to resize the image 200%, that way it's way easier to see all the litle dots. Then you can posterize the image on a very low level (though I didn't did this, it makes everything easier), about 5 or something. That way you can then select with the pen tool all the little things/dots with two or three colors (I used two, as you can see). I find it easier that way because you don't have to get worried about shading, and it looks very deailed at the end.
Then you can add the color lines and all that. I hope what I wrote did made any sence ^o^;;
