IDK, I don't drink. But it's funny to see pics of someone who is a rolemodel for little girls drinking :)

My little cousin -who's a big fan of her- freaked out. |

Both?
It's pretty normal, though.
But they way she acts it's pretty immature. She's like 'OMGZZZZZZZZZ BEER1!!!!'. Funny, anyway.

I'm almost 17, and i dont drink. Sure, i'll have a bacardi breezer at a party, but only if it's a party that my parents are at, and it's cool with them.
Emma's never been a personal favourite of mine. She's very arrogant, and it appears that she's not quite the "zomgrolemodel" that she appears to be. |

Eh, I don't really like alcohol, so I don't think I'm grabbing a bottle anytime soon...I'm 16.
But isn't it pretty normal for British teens to drink beer? I met a guy from England once, about my age, and he claims that "it's no party without alcohol". |

i'm 18 and in college so i'm around a lot of drunk ppl more often than not. drinking isn't something i find impressive on any level. I don't drink b/c i personally don't like being under the influence of substances, i hate the taste greatly and don't care for the physical side effects it may cause (liver damage for long time abuse, and hangovers for immediate suffering). I don't think i need alcohol to have fun. i'm not bored with life - i don't think substances should be used to enhance it even if that were the case. happiness should come from within! =)
but countries other than the US don't have teens abusing alcohol. it seems that the united states just has a serious problem with it, while in france, kids can drink a little wine here and there and don't get themselves in trouble. And majority of the time, i heard most kids don't drink to pass out or become a babbling mess, like most Americans. I think it's just a culture thing so i'm sure emma can handle herself. |

You think someone at the party sold those pictures to the press? Even if it's normal those are REALLY not the average photo a teen star would want leaked of them, y'know?
I'm 21 and I don't drink. I've had serious pressure and mockery directed at me for my choice not to drink which makes me think I've probably made the right decision :x I don't mock people FOR drinking and I don't pressure them not to drink (except I will ask people I love not to get falling-down drunk, that pisses me off) so it seems weird that people do that to me, like they feel guilty and want me to join in so they don't feel guilty around me? Ehh. Anyway, even though I'm committed to being sober Kevin's still given me a few lectures about the affects of alcohol on the brain to make sure I know why I'm not doing what I'm not doing ; ) I don't think that 15 year olds should drink, though. I don't care how 'normal' it is- just because something -is- done doesn't mean it -should- be done. |

I'm 16 and I've been drunk a couple of times. Why? I don't know. I guess one of the reasons is, that I've always been the only one who didn't drink. I always carried all the drunk ppl home and cared for them so they wouldn't choke in their puke. But once we went to a party and because I hadn't ate anything the whole day, I felt pretty dizzy after some drinks. ( Sparkling Wine. I've always been of the opinion that it's allowed to drink sparkling wine on birthdays. Cheers! ) But I never got drunk because of that before. This time it was different and my mates wanted me to get drunk. Problably because they wanted me to know what it felt like. And everytime I took my eyes off the glas they'd fill it again. (And trust me, when someone already feels dizzy he might not notice that. )
Anyways.. since that I've been drunk a couple of times. (It's been a year.) But I've been going out without getting drunk or drinking anything at all. And when I hear that the friends of my sister bought alcohol (They're 13!!) it pisses me off. I mean I think that I can handle alcohol to some extend. I know whats okay and whats way over the top - and honestly? I feel guilty the next morning everytime I drunk something.
Anyways.. those "friends" of my sister drive me crazy while I don't want to step in. Fortunately my sister doesn't want to get drunk either. ... But.. your friends have a influence on you, you know?
Haha. Does this reply make any sense.. ??
O____o
Aw, and btw. I haven't been drunk for 3 months or something... just to let you know how "often" i drink. Maybe once a month. Or once two months. xD
Edit:
Btw youre allowed to drink and smoke at the age of 16 here in austria. Last year we had those american students for a weekend. (They made a europe - tour) And they said they enjoyed Austria the most because they were allowed to drink all night and day. O___o Which I think sucked pretty much because... that's the only reason why yuo like a place? It's sad because they didn't even want to see all the sights. ); They were between 16 - 17. Hmm... ); |

Teenagers can drink here in the states in their homes or at private parties (weddings, birthdays etc. as long as they're not like at a bowling alley and maybe even then if they rent the place out completely) but they can't buy alcohol or (I think) be legally intoxicated even in these private events. I think it's silly- the fact that they can't freely drink makes them feel like it's rebellious and if you don't do it you're a goody-goody, but if everyone's doing it how rebellious can it really be? I do think the drinking age being 21 is ridiculous- you can die for our country at 18 but you're not mature enough to decide if you want to drink or not? |

I don't drink (I'm 13) but I just love sparkling cider haha. One of my best friends absolutely loves to hang out with the 'cool crowd' and once she went out with this drug dealer to a bar, and they got drunk. She wasn't single during that time.
My other friends don't drink, but a few of my friends from Elementary school drink a LOT. |

Lol she looks like Hermione. I honestly don't think it's such a crime for teenagers to experience drinking I mean.. people can't hide from that 'society' forever and at least she'll realize the effects of it (if it goes overboard) soon enough that she will know what limits are by the time it gets more serious. |

I've never been drunk, only a bit tipsy. :P I don't like the thought of being under the influence of anything at all and not having a clear mind / controll over what you are doing. You can drink at the age of 16 here. I don't know, I think being drunk once in a while (like half a year or maybe every ... months) is OK. It's your own choice and as long as you don't bother other people with it..
About Emma.. well if she wants to be a rolemodel, she is def being stupid. No actually, she IS a rolemodel and she should realize that. But on the other hand, she is a normal kid too. And kids like to experiment. I can imagine she doesn't feel like setting the good example all the time. |

Oh, no, I know teens drink in every country. I was asking if it was more socially permissible in England than in the U.S. Sorry if that came out wrong. :/

i hate it when people say you NEED to know what it's like to be drunk, and it friggin bugs me because sometimes, people I care about try to get me to do it, but i hate the taste, and I hate the environment.
i'm with ariel on this issue.

I find it really fun to see such "private" pictures of celebs... Like, it's not a photoshoot, or a premiere, or paparazzi shots, they are pics like those I'd have of my friends. :P (Also, I'm overly amused by the fact that the music in the video is the Stupid Girls song :P)
As for Emma, I'll just repeat what pretty much the entire Internet is saying; she's not legally allowed to drink, but most teens do, and it's not like she's the first famous minor to ever turn to the bottle. And it's not like she's an alcoholic, so really, just let her be young if she wants to...
But on the subject, people who think they can't have fun without alcohol must either a) be very boring persons, or b) know very boring people. Seriously.
I've had more fun without alcohol than some of the times when I've been under the influence. I've only been really drunk once (like, more than just a bit tipsy, which has happened on occation) which ended in me spending half of the night with my head next to the toilet, and it really wasn't something I'd want to do again :P |

I totally agree with you. :)
Yes, I admit I've been drunk many times (but then I'm 20 and legal :P). And I've had a lot og fun with alcohol, BUT the times I've had most fun have been without alcohol. You can have so much fun without alcohol, and I think it's kind of sad when someone _have_ to get drunk every weekend.
In Norway (I don't know about other contries), teenagers drink way too much .. that's my opinion.
