Yay go matt :D

That's alright, like I said in the first post, the deadline is negotiable. I would just like it if people are reaching their close-finals by the deadline I put. Obviously since you just got into this, there won't be a problem with having it extended for a few days. :) This collab does not have to be amazing, you can have simple clothing/anything you like so don't stress out too much with other collabs on the side as well.

Vietnam is amazing, hope you guys are having a good time where y'all are. :P NB: This hotel has free internet so I will still be able to check up daily. :)

So do I vexel clothing on this picture, or is there an even larger picture, or..? Because Once on the designer list, you will recieve the much larger sized mannequin base by .psd so you can get started!.. Just asking, otherwise I'd start and then see it was all for nothing because I should do it on that base. :P

I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to drop out. :(
I got over-ambitious with the outfit and I don't think school will let me finish it with all the tests and such. >< Sorry~

^ haha it definately is. I'm really no good at scratch vexelling, let alone clothing. So i was spending a while going through online stores etc and matching outfits.. it was a fun process, but tedious to put it on this mannequin and make the figures look natural. :P

BTW: Emsickle has decided to replace Nina, so we have a full designers team once again! :)

Sorry.. I'm going to have to drop out as well. I have been trying to do something all afternoon (and other times) but I can't find any pictures that match the pose and can't draw anything from scratch because there's not much shading on the base to follow and the arm pits are really bugging me lol. I'm really sorry :\ I hope there is someone to replace me.

Aaww Linda, that sucks!! :(
I hope someone can replace her :(
I have done some hair and two tops over each other on mine, and a necklace (from Arwen in LotR! :D).
My idea is to have her have several styles on over each other but its not gonna work out how I want exactly :P

=/ I didn't think the base was to hard to work around on.. i got most tops/etc to fit the body with a bit of cropping. Ohwell, i'll find somebody else. Thanks for trying.

By the way, there isn't a certain/set style that we have to keep ourselves to, right? I am using a *very* simple style right now and thought about adding outlines maybe.. 's that okay?

That's fine Matt, my clothing isn't like vogue-like either. In a sense the clothing is still hard to vexel but the outcome itself will be simple clothing, yet still cool. Mine is sorta street-style (overly inspired by Australian fashion ahah).

Vee, I'll add you to the list, but you're definately sure you can finish it this time? I just dont want people backing out again.. i'd really love to host a succesful collab..

Sorry I keep asking questions but yeah.
How about the facial features? What do we add? We add hair, right? How about lips? Eyes? Nose? :) Just wondering.

Hmm, well since I want it all attention to be put on the clothing itself (where all the hard work is aimed at), I don't want to do much special with facial features etc. But I guess, since usual mannequins in stores do hae some type of facial stuff, maybe we can add a one or two colour/layer hair base? And if it were to be a whole face thing, it would be very simple..

what do you guys think?

Just a one color hair base (which i have now) would be cool too.. they would be like, faceless :| :P

Haha well, let's firstly keep it that everybody should add a one colour hair base. And matt, you can carry along with facial features if you like, and then show it to me.. and also the version without.. so we can decdide which would look better -> everybody will do what we decided upon. :P

No problem vee. :)

Note: Can all designers please post here with their views on facial features? Should there be eyes/lips etc, or just simple hair? What do you have in mind? Thanks!

I think I also remember there was a similar collab, the one where images were given and they were meant to look like mannequins.. I remember marleen joined it. I think they did the "hair + lips only" thing as well. I would like for this collab to be different though, or at least slightly more original. Are there any alternatives you guys can think of?

I was also thinking, since the face of the mannequin I quickly vexelled is basically a sorta 3d oval shape, there are no nose features/eye+lipsdents.. so itd be hard to just add on some eyes and make it look normal, yknow? So if we were to do such a thing, there'd be much more to vexel for everybody. I mean, I'm up for anything, but not sure about the rest of you all.

This can be an on going discussion.. but at least we'll know who's still active. :D

Yeah, the Mannequin Sketch Collab you mean? I was in that as well, I think for this collab it would indeed be nice to do just a one-colour (maybe two?) hair thing.

^ Yep that's what I meant.

Anyways, guys, even though i'm on holidays you've probably noticed i've been online daily *cause of the free internet*.. but tomorrow i'm taking the 12 hour train down to Ho Chi Minh, and i'll be busy there doing lots of touristic things, and i'm not sure either if there's free internet. So unless there is and I have time, I'll talk to you guys again on Saturday. :) x

Vee   03rd April 2006 - 04:29 pm

yeah, eyes is too hard for make it look normal, and hair&lips are similar to the Mannequin Sketch Collab.
so, just hair?
