But I miss the old times, when everyone had a personal site. I know, it was quite annoying, buuuuuuuuut at least entertaining. I loved to surf those sites [lovemeforme, radioslut, star-beams [even though it's still working, SOMEONE *cough*POINTS LINDS *cough* doesn't update anymore ¬¬], IDK! Too many...] I can make the whole list of dailies I used to visit, but that's not the point.
Why did people lose interest in having a site? C'mon guys! You're so talented! I know a site are timeconsuming, but don't you remember how cool it was to discover that someone left you a comment? My domain just survived less than 3 months, because it expired, but I can remember how cool it was.

I still have mine!! :D
I miss it too though. It was like you could build this whole little community of friends and you could read their journal every day and find out what was going on with them. That's harder to do now. |

Personal sites bug me so much -_-
Back in myyyyyyyyyy day there was so much more to it than comments. People are obsesssed with comments now. It's the norm to plug commenters.. heck it's normal to have your blog script automatically do it for you. People can't even be bothered to write out the links any more. I remember people use to comment because they wanted to comment, not because they wanted a plug *sigh* There are even comment exchange sites and I cannot believe how uptight people get when omg they get 2 comments instead of 3 omg the painnnnn.
I'm so old that I remember blogging manually with html and comments weren't even invented! |

Mm, it's kind of nice to have fewer filler sites out there sometimes. It was bothersome how often I'd come across sites that did not work properly or were just not updated. Also, LJ and MySpace are more convenient for a lot of people because you can get alerts or just go to your 'friends' page and read and comment on all updates rather than having to search them all out. |

Meeee toooo... except the 'my day' part cus it's a life-long thing for me, I'm afraid ; ) Lately I find I am forgetting to even read my comments :x which is sad because they get e-mailed to me, but I'm like... 'I'll read it later' and then someone i know offline will find a comment funny and mention it to me (if I had ever had any sense no one in my offline life would know about my site) and I'll realllly not know what they're talking about :P I try to read comments from the people I know and want to hear from, though... but I don't always remember.
When I first started 'blogging' it wasn't really blogging because we just did it manually and changed the whole thing when we updated! : ) There was no record of our past mistakes (the way I like it!) and I was about 12.
I personally lovveeee my commenter plug thing though. I didn't ever bother linking people for comments but then I thought it was a nice thing to do and also I know who commented before I open the comments box and whether or not it's worth reading *sheepish* : ) It's also nice to ctrl+click each of those names and tab my latest visitors ; )
