Ooookay. Well, one of the vexels submitted yesterday or something (i'm so matter-of-fact) inspired me to want to try making those vexels that just look creamy somehow. The first one I started on, Alexis Bledel (which happens to be who was in the one that made me go batty and want to try... I didn't do that on purpose!) is going o.k. I think but I'm still wanting tips from anyone who does this style often and on purpose (yeah, on purpose).

This second one uhh... it's not going so well. It's B&W and I started it side-by-side with the Alexis one (well, I started that one first but I'm going back and forth). I was going to try to do a greyscale one in similar style but I don't think that's going to work out for now.

I don't really know what kind of help anyone might be able to offer... *sheepish* I guess I'm kind of hoping for some magic words? : ) |

It's not, it's all vector layers- it's at 50% size though to save bandwidth.

I'm not sure what you mean with creamy? Could you maybe post an example? :) |

I really like the Alexis Bledel one. I don't think it looks blurred.
But the one on b&w does look a bit funny, specially with the highlights. I think the shapes of the layers on the highlights are too similar one to another, so at the end it looks like if you used the contraction method (I'm not saying you did, though :P)
I do love how you did the eyes shading on that one, though ;) |

I like the tone of the skin's Alexis Bledel, i love the skin soft, but if you want to change that a little, you could add some lineart brown tone on the contour of the face, nose and ear.
And the second vexel, i have no tips.. |

hrmm... i think for creamy vexels, the lines are super round and smooth.
ok, nevermind. hah! i just think it's the colors... >_> man... i'd prefer deleting this comment.

When I think of creamy I think of Taylors vexels :P
On the first one.. I thought the bottom section (under the black line) was it's own vexel and I was thinking hmm maybe it's lips? That's a weiiird looking mouth lol :p They're all looking good though, Alexis could do with darker nostrils. I'd love to see how her hair will turn out :D |

I HATE when that happens to me. Once I don't know what something is and see it as something it is not I usually cannot figure itout on my own and have to ahve someone come and touch it and show me because my mind has already latched onto that image.
and ~glares~ her nose isn't done! ~kicks Ohh, you KNOW i'm good at noses! : P All I've done are highlights so far. The nostrils jsut lack highlights at this point and have no shadows.
I dunno if i'm going to finish these though, ya'll... I think I just feel like practicing skin on about 20 different pictures to see if I can figure out a method for it.
For the Alexis one (if anyone's wondering) I made about 5 layers of different colors, then I went back and made them each at 30 percent, then made 2-3 layers in between... like, say I have a green layer (for the sake of explanation), I make it 30%, then I make another 30% layer in that color, and another. Each one is on top of the previous and slightly smaller, then thevery top one is at 100%.
The B&W one, though, ehh it's just dark grey with white on top a bunch of times at 5-10% opacities.
