If I had the talent that some of you people do, I'd be telling every friend, family member and random strangers on the street. :P

Family:
My parents just dont understand guys. I got kicked from doing vexels back in december the taught I should be studying. They are right but they dont realize what I do. Now a days when they come around I qucikly minimize the program and act like im some math review site. But If I get caught its like.. there she goes again. Like in June my dad just exited all my windows.. he does that (If he wants to use the comp everything has to be gone and fresh before he uses it.) and he exited some project I was doing with 200 u saved layers, Oh I got raging mad I guess he realized how much time I spent into it and backed off a bit. Now I use my comp only for vexeling and save like every 10 layers or so. Just in case Of course. My sis loves it tho! She get so excited shes my inspiration, when her friends come over and I happen to be vexeling she drags em over and show em then I explain and they all like coolllll. Then they go on their merry little way.

Freinds:
Not all my friends know about it, I jump to any moment to show em my work. Like if they IM me while im working and they ask me what im doing.. I jump to "VEXLING!" <-- That gets me excited and then I end up explaining and I show emand they are like nice, but I gotta work on them. And in school after im done doing typing up my essays in my English class I go on the internet and go to www.vexels.net XD It draws em in like sharks, Then I go on b explaining what it is and they like.. cool. I wanna do that". So yeah.

My mum knows I vexel, from the start, kind of. I remember showing her my Elijah Wood vexel, from ages ago, asking her for tips... She thinks I'm the best vexeller in teh world :P She's all "Ooooh, you made that? That's so awesome!" She bragged about how cool they were to my brother, and he thought they were cool. He's the kind of person who gets impressed by a simple filter though, so... :P Most of my friends know about my vexelling, some of them occationally stops by the site and check out my work. One of them even showed another friend of hers, which was a bit strange, but whatever :P The only people I've showed vexels to that didn't get it was my grandparents, because grandpa has a great printer and photo papers, so I went to print some. My grandpa is a kind of technology freak, he burns DVDs and all kinds of stuff... He thinks that Photoshop Elements 2.0 is the best program ever, though, like you can change colours and add a fugly frame to a photo, oh joy. :P So when I showed him the original photo in comparason to the vexel, he was all "Hm, but the colours are not the same as in the original, you could fix that with Elements!" :P No you can't, and that's not the point, but sure grandpa, sure :P

I have an offline friend who tried vexelling a couple of years ago, but she's not really into that anymore :( We webdesign together though :)

heh, that made me laugh.

i show my family but they say ueah thats nice. but they dont mean it. my sister deliberately tells me theyre awful, esp if she thinks im proud of it.

however my friends all think theyre great. and loads of them have asked for them. i dont think they quite understand it but they like the idea of themselves as a cartoon. my friend once asked me to show her how to vexel, and i tried but she got too confused. and was like..is it gonna take long?

which made me laugh.

and another friend recently asked me to show her but i havent got round to that yet. plus im realy bad at explaining. may just have to send her a link to here:P

My family think Vexeling is some lesbian sexual postion, it's quite sad really.
My boyfriend kind of understands what it is, but he has to say it's nice otherwise i'd hurt him lol

LOL, that's classic

i dont really like showing my mom my stuff, because it's, even if it's like a WOW, OMG brilliant, it's just that, you know. 8+ hours just to hear that. a WOW, walk away and go wash dishes or something, lol.
anyways i've shown a few friends my stuff and they're intrigued a lot more than my mom is. and then i tried to teach a friend how to vector, and it went pretty well, and then um, i recently met this girl my age and she likes art and has photoshop, so when i get some money on my phone i'll pursue that line... :P

Wow I just read how you people tell all your friends about that you vexel.. I've only told a few, and I didn't even mention this site. Maybe it's because being part of any community on the internet is considered 'geeky' (especially for a girl) and weird and.. I dunno, it's just awkward. None of my friends know that I spend so much time on forums, cause it's just something that you don't do. Many people would think "oh come on, go have a real social life." That annoys me, so I don't tell them. Sometimes it's hard though. Because I get to speak with a lot of foreign people I know a lot about all different kinds of things that hasn't reached our country yet, so when I tell them I heard "this and that" of a person they want to know who it is.. and then it's weird to say 'from an american'. :P Lol. I don't know why, but the whole social internet life is somewhat taboo here. Not many people have one anyway. More so, most of my friends (well girls, boys like to game of course) only use the computer for MSN and school.
Sorry for the rambling.. (this whole text is so not me, I never go on like that.)

my mom doesnt like me spending time on the computer. she wants me to have a life and invite friends over. but my friends are ALL busy, she doesnt believe me but they are (dance, guitar, piano, dance....) its really annoying. my friends are like : oh thats pretty. but you can tell they don't really get it and how much work it is. Like one of my friends when i showed her my contest entry (faking a smile since you forgot to write) she said: her face is a little red... and im kinda thinking. DUH i kinda noticed. they just dont get it lol.

I'm not sure if my parents know, I mean I guess they do since they've seen my website, but we've never talked about it or anything. I've shown them to my sister and she thinks they're pretty cool, except I usually show her the work in progress, and since I do they eyes last, they don't have eyes, so she thinks they're pretty freaky :p

Some of my friends know about it, and they love them. One of my friends wants to learn how to do them, but I don't really think he has the patience to finish one :p

I used to keep it quiet but my computer was moved into a more public place *ahem, the living room* so my family automatically see what I do.

Parents; My dad thinks it's cool but he hurt my sister's feelings when she once did some lineart on him (we think it's the small wrinkle lines she drew in) so now I'm afraid to show him anything I do. Mom is different. She watches me sometimes and says "it's cute" but she's great for when I'm vexelling a celebrity - she's my 'tester'. I ask, "Can you recognize this person?" LOL.

Sibilings; My brothers don't care...at all lol. My younger-but-older-than-the-other brother is kind of in to photoshop for school and when he needs something done he tries flattering me ;) My sister did some vexelling a while ago, mostly lineart, but then she got fedup and quit.

When I get better though I plan on making prints of vexels and hanging them up in my room. I guess my friends will ask about it then, but I don't expect them to understand either :P
