hey guys! (and girls)
i'm new around these parts, just introducin myself.
started vexeling september 30, 2006.
i like to think i'm getting better :)
EDIT: Here's some information about myself as well, heh, didn't even think to add that.
My name is Amanda, I'm 19 and a resident of Vermont, soon to be moving to New York (AH! I've lived in VT my entire life!)
I graduated HS in 2004, and since my real passion is horseback riding I did a year long apprenticeship at the UVM Morgan Horse Farm (you know, 60 hour work weeks for no pay, physical labor and mental anguish... one of the best experiences of my life.) I've got a horse, Barely Famous, or "Amos", but now my mother mostly takes the cake with him - up for year end awards her first year showing? terrific. I ride all seats, mainly dressage with my own horse, but I adore saddleseat, and western is a bit of an 'eh' but we do that sometimes as well. My horse, the love of my life, is a 15.3 hh Paint gelding, very adorable and very squishable.
I recently tried out the college thing at Castleton State College in VT, but the administration are a bunch of =CENSORED= and forced me to quit in the first three weeks. (I'm a real little person, my enormous roommate had her plans to dent my face and they wouldn't help me out)
Um, I got four vexels up so far, take a look and tell me what you think, please - I'm just dying for comments and criticisms and all those good things that will help me improve.
I hope to get to know all of you a little better, best wishes.

Horses scare me. I got stepped on as a young teen and haven't recovered since.
I hope you have fun here! |

Thanks for the welcome! I've heard from so many people bad stories of being stepped on/bit/thrown/etc. and now they are scared of horses. It hurts a whole bunch when they step on you, but most of the time they dont mean it (believe it or not some horses really do want to hurt you and see you maimed), and they don't like stepping on us (people=squishy, and they don't like squishy under their feet!) At least you have a reason, my brother doesn't like them because 'they're big' |

The last time I went on a horse was for my friends birthday, we was walking a long this tiny narrow pathway and the horse infront kept letting off gas and pooing, and I was "safely" on the horse while my friend had to trudge a long beside me (we had to share the horse half-way because somebody else had already taken them all x[)

Horse horror stories are usually pretty funny. When I used to drive horses, if the horse had to poo, my boss/mentor would loudly exclaim 'One little, two little, three little ________' interjecting the name/last name of whoever was in the cart with him... Kind of toilet humor, but hey, we're barn folk, and didn't have much to entertain us. I guess horse poop worked ok. |
