Which kind of music do you like? Which bands / interprets are your favourites?

I'm into that Rock / Indie / Alternative thing. Actually I'm not just into that. There are some really POP-Songs I like. Even some RnB. But most of all Rock n stuff. ( ;

I absolutely adore Coldplay. Franz Ferdinand are gorgeous, too. Then there's Placebo. Garbage and Gorillaz are absolutely adoreable. And KT Tunstall and The Killers. Those are pretty much my favas. There are some more which are completely unknown. xD

Somehow I have the feeling that there are maaany Users here which are more into HipHop and stuff. Am I right!?

I'm into so many things. I generally don't really like very poppy songs and rap/hiphop, but there are always some exceptions.. (for example, I just love Golddigger. LOL.) Also a lot of songs that I'd never put on my creative seem suddenly great when I'm out to a cafe/bar with my friends. :P Mostly because they're great to dance on with a good beat or very cheerful.

But I just love Coldplay, U2, John Mayer, Gorillaz, the Killers, Robbie Williams, Maroon 5, Keane, Frou Frou, Imogen Heap, Anouk, Racoon, Oasis, Jack Johnson, Kelly Clarkson, No Doubt, Green Day, Jem, etc...

Vicky listed all of the bands that I adore <3 So yes, alternative/pop rock is my kind of thing. I also like some Indie. Besides for The Postal Service, The Killers, The Bravery, yada yada (again, Vicky listed them all x]) I like The Shins, Coldplay, Keane, Death Cab for Cutie. Oh, and I love Cyndi Lauper!

I'm also into "new age" and classical music. I adore Enya. My favourite classical piece is Canon in D. I'm also quite fond of the modern classical group, Bond.

I can never accurately depic the genre of music I like, and people always get mad at me when I try. So I'll just say that I'm somewhere between post-hardcore and indie.

I like the spill canvas, panic! at the disco, something corporate, emery, scary kids scaring kids, hidden in plain view, death cab for cutie, relient k, crowned king, postal service, pretty girls make graves..etc. The list is different everytime. lol

I don't listen to a certain genre, I usually go by the beat or how easy it is to sing along.

So the artists I like that don't fit into any genre all together: Metric, Missy Elliott, Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Death Cab For Cutie, Mirah, Ephemera, Garbage, Kidney Thieves, Shocknina, Stevie Nicks, Ladytron, Eurythmics, Cave in, Shakira, Le Tigre, Ciara, No Doubt, Mindless Self Indulgence, Coheed & Cambria, Morningwood, Nirvana, Cyndi Lauper, Elysian Fields, Imogen heap, Sia, Queen, Kelly Clarkson.

Some of those I should probably be ashamed of.

^ Never be ashamed!

I like rock-ish and pop-ish. I'm not that big on hip hop, occassionally I'll get into some of the famous songs like umm that it's getting hot in here song that rocks, I think that is hip hop?

Top bands/musicians on my itunes:
Missy Higgins, Dashboard confessional, Kisschasy, End of Fashion, The Veronicas, Pete Murray, No doubt, blink, rilo kiley, pink floyd, the killers, lagwagon, kelly clarkson, crowded house, tim/neil finn, delta goodrem and I just found this awesome new band that I love called glasshouse.
I'm also a sucker for Britney, Christina, Avril etc etc.

I'm like Taylor!! ``D

I listen to a wide variety of music, as well, such as those that everyone has already listed. ``P

Yellow (Berit?), on the contrary, I thought most vexelers here would like rock/alternative/indie ---something of those sorts, and it appears to be just that, so far.

I basically listen to Renaissance music, classical, and the B-52's. :) It's an interesting combination, I suppose, but it works. I don't like most newer music, mostly because of the subject matter, it's pretty nasty to listen to sometimes. But Vivaldi= truely timeless! :D Especially The Four Seasons, and just about anything by Kuhlau <3

momo.PEACHiE   10th December 2005 - 04:16 am

Garbage, Nine Inch Nails, Ayumi Hamasaki, Evanescence, Lacuna Coil, Le Tigre, System Of A Down, Blondie, Linkin Park, Nighwish, Rage Against The Machine, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, No Doubt, The Distillers, Slipknot, Madonna, Broadcast, A Perfect Circle, Polysics, Bjork, The Cranberries, Nobuo Uematsu, Utada, White Stripes, Gorillaz.

That's my top 25 on last.fm. This is mostly a mix of pop and rock (although I've got some Final Fantasy there), but go down lower on the list and it gets pretty crazy.

Japp, you're right. Seems like. Actually I think the balance between those who listen to hiphop and stuff and more indie-like people is just perfect! LOL
