Here comes the Winter
Okay so this isn't the best, and I don't expect it to win, but I had fun making it. I didn't really have a set theme before I made it but as I went on the blue reminded me of ice/winter so I kind of portrayed her as an Ice fairy of some sort. This is only my 3rd or 4th vexel (not including illustrations) so it's not that great, but I'm proud of it :) What do you think of it?

I love how it has come out. I think its good how you have used different tools, a vexel doesnt have to be created just with the pen tool. Think you should of made the dress longer tho but apart from that its really nice.

Who says you can't use the oil brush to create an effect? I say it looks very lovely :) ... and for a third vexel it's actually terrific! (considering my third looked like dog barf)

I like the oil brush!

Carina, as long as it looks like a vexel, WHICH IT DOES, I think it's allowed.
I think it looks really nice! The skin shading is AMAZING, especially for a 3rd. The rest of it looks like you just used a brush - but you made it work really well in this case. The image just has a good feel to it. Awesome job! <3

the dress is kind of cheating, no? It's an 'oil brush' in Corl Paint Shop Pro X. I don't think that using that brush is allowed... eh. Same thing with the hair. The eyebrow goes over the hair (?) and while the hair is blonde, the eyebrow is.. .dark brown? The nose is strange and the eye-make up is very heavy.

i don't feel as though it's cheating, i used a brush only on the dress (not in coral, though) to give it the certain effect I wanted. The hair is not a brush. I used the pen to make it.
julia where's her legs...?
Reply from oohlala
i didn't give her any :) she's kind of a fairy type character, so i felt it didn't have to be totally realistic. plus, there were no legs showing in the original image, and i didn't want to draw them from scratch :P
