Well...first thing you need to learn is that you should never blur your vexel. Blurred vexels just don't look good, and blurring is also considered as "cheating".
Then... I see there is a weird shading on the face...the colors are pretty much unrealistic, so my suggestion would be to use the colors of the reference image and if they look too weird just pick skin colors in the colors palette. Usually there should be darker colors at the edges of the face, under the nose, under the lip and lighter colors on the forehead, on the tip of the nose, on the cheeks and on the chin. I suggest you to try to keep that in mind next time.
The lips and eyes are fine, but they shouldn't be blurred ;)
Hair is one of the trickiest parts of vexels, you'll figure it out soon.
