25% of original image; An entry for my SkillsUSA competition for advertising design project; I got through district with it, and will be going to state in the last week of April for this design.
---
I feel like I've been a sort of one-note vexel artist; I want people to know that I can be creative, as well! This entire vexel was made without any tracing, and was loosely based off of a Natalie Portman image, which I was refering to off of the screen (Meaning the image was sitting right in front of me as I tried to recreate it on the computer). The hair was made up, and the title was suggested by my best friend.

I hope you guys can see that I'm more than just a realistic vexel artist.

I really admire people who can creat something from their head. When I try to do that it usually looks crap (face is disproportional etc.).
I've never doubted that you are creative person Shelley. :) Your works speek for them selfs!

Thank you! :D

For the SkillsUSA Advertising Design project (Different from the actual skill competition, which I also entered in), you enter in an actual piece of work that you created before your departure to the competition (That work goes into district, and if you get a score of 90+, then the piece goes on to state, and if it qualifies then, it goes to nationals.) For Advertising design project, you have 7 categories you can enter; Computer generated with Media layout (CD jacket, video jacket, book jacket, magazine cover, etc.), computer illustration (Which I entered), logo or product campaign, silkscreen work or design, illustration (hand generated), replications (entries using copyrighted catoon designs or other protected items), or other.

The actual SKILL competition itself is entirely different, and changes ever year; this year, we had to design 3 different thumbnail logos for a company, and for each different logo, you would have to make 10 variations. After you've created them, you would take them to the advisor, and he would choose three of each variation. You would then have to make a larger colored rough of each design, consult the advisor once more, and he would choose the final three to be reproduced in either photoshop or illustrator. I felt like I was on Project Runway while competing ;P. I placed third in this competition, and the top three also get to go to state.

Thank you! <33333
