God, Where Are You? |
Well, I woke up this morning with the idea for this vexel. I have been keeping the image in my "for future uses" folder for a while now and the idea popped into my mind around 8 am. All the moody songs I have listened inspired me.
Basically, this is a cry for help from God. The background symbolizes the world's condition now, the mysery, the chaos in it. Since I do not believe in any certain religion, the prop in the girl's hand, I guess it is some Egytian artifact, went great with the effect I wanted to create. I loved working black and white, and the red just added depth in it..

The ankh just generally means life.
Very cool, and the mascara running down her face is a nice touch.

I like that one ;)
especially the skin shading.
and yes, it is an egyptian symbol, called ankh. when i'm right it was the symbol for death and life, but I'm not sure about that.
