So if we can, we have to free-draw the pinwheel in her left hand?
I'd love to enter, but I couldn't add a pinwheel for the life of me or complete the flag.
Good luck on those who do choose to enter, though!

I think i'll enter. It'll give me time away from my major work vexels.

Just a question for Jason: Does Tigarah wish for the colours to remain the same, (same with the make up, etc) ?

i wouyld love to enter but im sure someone with fancy "heaps of layers" detail would win lol, unless of course tigarah was after simple-ish.
and is there a certain style they wanted or can we just do whatever we want?

Yeah, this is kind of along the lines of asking a bunch of people to try for a comission vexel but not telling us what's wanted and we have to finish the work to get the job... so what's wanted? I mean, sure sometimes people like something they didn't expect to but I think it's only fair we have some idea- that vexel would take a LOT of time and honestly be worth way more than $60. It would be nice to at least think we're on the right track.

yes exactly echo!
i wish i knew what style they are after like "overly layerd transitions" "lineart" or simple "cartoonlike" or crazy colours like linds pinwheel...

and one of your vexels echo would definatly be worth more than $60

the thing about that is that i am not familiar with this stuff nor is she and this is for more than just $60..the domain and hosting for 2yrs is nothing to scoff at i would think, no?

i think keeping the same colors would be fine though

alot of yalls work is top notch so yea, just do what you do best :)

With all due respect (and I mean that sincerely) I own four domains and get free hosting so I don't personally find any appeal in the extra prizes being offered.

More questions:

Could you ask her to surf the site a bit perhaps and select several vexels that would be in a style that she would like to be vexelled in?

Would we be able to reuse the image? Does that depend on if she selects it? And if so, what usage would be allowed?

XeonStudios   25th May 2006 - 04:54 am

you could reuse the image as much as you want, as you made it

we are just wanting access to the final format to be used on her myspace and website

i'll ask her to look around and pick out what she likes and report back

... Why would you need the .psd file for something like that ? Wouldn't a high res .jpg be sufficient?

XeonStudios   25th May 2006 - 05:07 am

well itd just be nice to be able to make modifications if needed thats all

better than bugging the creator, no?

Could we collaborate with someone and split the prizes as we see fit?

I would rather alterations be made through me, but maybe its just my anal nature lol

well whatever works for you if you dont mind being bug'd about it, thing is that i wanna animate parts of it so being able to pull the right layers out for manipulation b/c i know what i want is alot easier, you know?

like id want to be make her blow her bubble gum and pop and maybe flag waver a lil, ect ..easier to do it on my own time as i could work faster and only have myself to complain at as im messing with it :P

to animate it would be imposssible unless it was made in flash so it can be animated, otherwise if u do it in like imageready or animationshop it wont be vexel anymore but all pixxelly and wont work properly...but meh thats just my opinion. good luck

Sounds like fun :D

another question... are we allowed to give away part of our price to someone else?
I mean... the $60 is interesting, but many of us already own a domain...

I'm still interested though... I like the picture :D
Maybe if I have some time left...
:)

hm i don't know how you're goin to do the animation with a vexel image. but i guess if you know what you're doing then that's fine.

Um was the style ever specified? as in gradients, realism, etc? or just do whatever you want?

and should the background be vexelled too? or kept transparent?

I looked at the image and thought of entering.. just a question.
Wait- the image needs the same dimensions right? Then how are we supposed to make the flag 'complete'? We'd need extra artboard space and we aren't allowed to do that.

Oh good point.

...I don't know if I'll enter. Will have to see about that. :)
