Despite it being on my user page I always forget your name, which I like very much (the name, not the forgetting it).

Mine is...ECHO! Ta da ; )

/edit/ Since other people have something to say about their names I may as well also, right? Well, besides EVERY man ever thinking he is the first to say, 'Echo... echo...echo......echo...' upon learning my name people often do not believe me when I tell them. It is funny because you can see them trying to figure out what I've just said a lot of the time. I've been asked to clarify and been called by completely not-my-name names immediately after introducing myself, (Nice to meet you, Bekka!) (*i've just told a woman my name and she is now trying to decipher what she heard- she gives up and looks down at my nametag and then says...* Edna?).

My favorite one remains this- when I was nine years old I was visiting a new church down the street from my family's new apartment. The pastor's wife saw that me and my family were new, so she came over and welcomed us and was quite nice- he came over too and poked fun at me and my brothers and spoke with my parents for a couple of minutes and then took the stage for the sermon, which he started out with, 'Is there an Echo in the building?' Of course the people I'd met that morning all turned to me and laughed, the rest of the church didn't get the joke ; ) So they didn't know why several people were laughing or why I was blushing.

My entire name is Katy Ann Orr - 10 letters. Well, I was returning something to Boscovs the other day and had to print my name, so I put Katy Orr. And as I was walking away the woman was like "oh I need your last name too!" and I replied "that is my last name". And Orr is such an uncommon last name, atleast around here, that when I meet someone and they know an Orr, they are convinced we are related. I get asked all sorts of weird questions, "is your Dad a prison guard upstate?".

And if someone is asking my name (for information, like filing out papers) I just spell my last name I never say it, because I always get "Moore?".

And my middle name and last name are Ann/Orr like and/or. Even my parents make fun of me for that :( They didn't notice it when they named me.

My name's Emelie. Kind of like "Emily" but with a different spelling. I don't have an interesting story about my name, only that it's overly common around here. I've met like ten different Emelies (some with varying spelling, but still pronounced the same) in the past couple of years, and it's always annoying to not be sure if people are calling you or some of the other Emelies. So I've developed a habit of not listening when people call my name :P
And, I still have not managed to find a suitable nickname, after all of the years of not being the only one with my name, even if I've tried a couple of times, it's still plain old Emelie :P

mine's Magan... WITH AN 'A'!!! people are always spelling it with an 'E', and sometimes, they say it, "Mag - in". Nooo!! it's not Mag - in ! it sounds like maygn. I don't think that's very hard to remember. ``/

i wish i had an asian name. *shrug* but I guess my middle name is a bit more interesting than my first. it's PORSCHE! yeah, that's right! named after the car! ahahaha... in fact, all of us (my brothers and i) have car middle names. one's is ferrari, and the other's is stallion. yeah, stallion isn't a car, but i'm thinking it was going to be mustang until my mom intervened and was, like, 'NO MORE' !! hehehe. but yah, i think mine is interesting because there's a porsche 9 11, and i was born on sept 11. ``)

in any case, you should remember my name because it's my username. ^`)

I believe a lot of the time it's because they're christian right? (my middle name, maria, basically comes down to marie, isn't though)
My grandparents were catholic and named all their children 'maria' as their third name. :P

My middle name is Maria, however on my birth certificate it says Maria and my s.s. card it says Marie :\
My father is christian, however I don't know if thats the reason why my middle is Maria, I think they just thought it sounded nice, I would have preferred something different though, because as Echo said, everybody and their mothers middle name is Marie/a

I'm Samanta, nothing really fancy about it.
But my last name is Schnake, which is quite an uncommon last name on Latin America. So me and my friends ALWAYS make bets at the beginning of the year, trying to guess the way my last name will be misspelled or pronunced (by the new teachers). I also always get asked if I'm related to a politician with the same last name.
This year, they wrote "Samanta Schnaka", "Samtat Shcnake", "Samantha Shanke " and they pronounced like "Shhnak" "Sharake"and Snake ^o^;; But at least I won one of the bets :)

Well, it depends. There are a lot of Mexican Catholics (where I live) I think that use the name Marie but otherwise I've just known a lot of women with the middle name Marie. It shouldn't bother me so much ; ) Heh. There are just names that sound wrong in my head and I wish people wouldn't use because it's something similar to a rake on a chalkboard.
